The goal of Tender & Tempting Tales is two-fold:
Provide quality entertaining articles around romance fiction
Grow a vibrant, supportive romance reader community
To that end, Tender & Tempting Tales is always open to guest posts. While we’ll take a look at all ideas, we’re particularly interested in publishing in-depth articles that cover specific aspects of romance fiction. We’d rather have an article on the “why choose” trope or what makes a swoony grand gesture than generic romance genre articles.
Before sending your article, please read the guidelines below. Please note that articles not submitted per the guidelines will not be considered.

You can provide resources within your article, but you must let us know if it is an affiliate link or you are otherwise getting paid to share it. Note that Tender & Tempting Tales reviews resources and reserves the right to remove links if it deems them questionable or not appropriate for its readers. Also, Tender & Tempting Tales may include additional links to other content related to Tender & Tempting Tales.
Do not hyperlink text. Include any links you want in the article next to the text. We’ll hyperlink the URL when we prepare the article for posting.
Tender & Tempting Tales will edit your article if needed. If Tender & Tempting Tales feels the need to cut or add to the article, you’ll be notified.

1. What should I write about?
Tender & Tempting Tales publishes articles targeted to romance readers. As mentioned earlier, we prefer in-depth articles or niched-down content that is unique and entertaining. For example, “Is Mr. Darcy suffering from social anxiety?” “Is a romance set in the 1970's considered a historical romance?” Is the why-choose trope here to stay or is it a fad?
We prefer this over more generic articles on romance fiction.
I’m also open to reviews and news about upcoming releases.
Your focus should be on content that romance readers will enjoy.
2. Do you pay?
No.
3. How long should my posts be?
Post should be at least 700 words long. We prefer substance over fluff, so if it’s shorter, that’s okay as long as it offers something to readers.
4. Should I pitch you my idea before writing the post?
You don’t have to, but if you’re unsure, you can send your pitch first.
5. Should I include links within the piece?
You can include links in your article. Our system requires that you include the URL next to the text you want to hyperlink in the post. We review all links and reserve the right not to link to a resource. Quality links include those from reputable news sites and blogs, other posts here on Substack, and links to your website.
Note that we may add additional links to content from Tender & Tempting Tales to your article. These links will be related content to enhance the article.
6. Can I include affiliate links in my article?
Yes, but remember, we reserve the right not to use it. If you use affiliate links, you need to let us know, so appropriate disclaimers are included.
7. Will you edit my post?
Yes, for formatting, spelling and grammar, readability, and clarity. Any significant changes to the content will be referred back to you first.
8. Can I use photos?
Yes, but you need to own them and give us permission to use them. You’ll need to upload them and send us the URL for them. Photos won’t be edited, but they may be resized. Like links, we reserve the right not to post a photo.
9. What should be in my bio?
Include who you are and anything interesting about you. Don’t forget the URL to your website and/or social media.
10. What can I expect after I submit my article?
We will read your article for consideration within a week of receiving it. If accepted, it will be scheduled for posting. You’ll be notified of the date the post will go live, and sent the URL of the post when it is live so that you can share it.
11. Can I include the post in my media kit and share on social media?
Yes, absolutely. Tender & Tempting Tales would love for you to share your article!
