Belle James

Belle James has been a nomad for ten years and a believer in romance since she was a little girl. Her first written story took shape while camping with the three amigos, Saddleback Sadie, Wandering Don, and Audacious Author (Belle James). Each in their own rigs, they traveled the BLM (Bureau of Land Management), camping in the Long-Term Visitors Area, when not visiting the two-week designated areas.

Audacious Author Belle James wrote stories about love, nomad travels, and gold prospecting. With her first story written and accepted by Combat Boots Media, she applied for the Tender and Tempting Anthology. Her short stories are on her blog. “Running Scared” was published by Combat Boots Media in the Spring of 2025. Learn more at BelleJames.com.

Belle appeared in our first summer anthology, Moonlight and Margaritas, with her story of nomadic love in the desert, “Moonlight Rendezvous.”

“Falling in love isn’t supposed to happen… with a one night stand.
I walked away from him at the airport.
I kept track of him through news articles.
I left the life of glamor behind me and headed for the desert. A calm, get-to-know-myself-again quiet life, until my camp is invaded by the noise makers from across the way. I jump out of my van with a hot pot of coffee and a hammer, ready to defend my spot.

There he stood, the man, Lucien Lawless. I had dreamed of him for the last six years. He wrote songs about me, and I’d listen to them on repeat. My favorite was ‘Moonlight and Margaritas’, because that was the night I fell in love.
Once I realized it was him, I knew this was my second chance at love unless his career gets in the way.”

What is Belle’s romance writing confession?

"What’s the wildest piece of reader feedback you’ve ever gotten?

“The wildest piece of reader feedback was recieved from a man in his mid-forties. He explained he and his girlfriend tried the different positions and found them very intriguing. My face heated up and I laughed.”

Here’s a sneak peek of “Moonlight Rendezvous”!

“I’m heading out,” Jordan threw the peace sign. “I’ve had a wonderful time. When I arrived last night, I sure didn’t think my new life looked like this.”

“I’ll walk you to your van.” I didn’t want to turn her loose. She’d disappeared on me once. I didn’t want that to happen again.
